Working as a children's illustrator for the past 10 years, I've illustrated books for authors including Judy Blume, Steve Hartley and Marjorie Newman. I've recently completed a commission for the new Museum of Liverpool to design 'Winnie the Spider', a character appearing on all signage and information for children and young people.

A huge part of my practice involves working with adults, children and young people to explore their own ideas and aspirations using drawing as a tool to unlock creativity. I know lots of people young and old, have hang ups about not being a 'good' artist. I think drawing is about experimentation, scribbling snippets of ideas, enjoyment and surprise at your own abilities to create and express your thoughts, ideas and feelings, rather than something you can or cannot do.

Getting people drawing in exciting ways can make learning tactile, fun and meaningful – sharing our perceptions of the world around us through drawing and storytelling can create an 'a ha!' moment, increase self confidence and self belief, and increase engagement.
