Lee Ridley is a stand up comedian (who goes by the name of Lost Voice Guy) and writer from Newcastle Upon Tyne. He has Cerebral Palsy and has no speech. His background is in news journalism.
When the doctors at the hospital lost his voice as a child, the guy that would become known as 'Lost Voice Guy' thinks that his life is over.
For years, he looks everywhere for his voice, high and low, but can't find it. On the bright side, he finds £2.25 in change, a wine gum and the TV remote and an used condom….that’s now safely back in his wallet. He comes to the conclusion that, being a 80s child, Maggie Thatcher has taken his voice along with his milk.
Like Stephen Hawking (but cleverer and better looking), he is forced to use a communication aid to enable him to speak.
