One Billion Rising - Story of a Deaf Woman's Experience of Domestic Violence

As part of my series of short films for the One Billion Rising campaign, 'Sarah', tells the story of a deaf woman's experience of domestic violence.

So often disability is excluded from films about domestic violence. Statistics indicated that one in three women are raped or beaten in a lifetime. Amongst disabled women the figure is one in two. Something needs to be done to tackle these appalling statistics and questions need to be raised as to why our most vulnerable are being left more at risk.
