Nauman Khalid has taught postcolonial literature and theory at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom and is currently working as a freelance writer and broadcaster.

He has written for The Guardian, The Manchester Evening News and The Big Issue in the North, and has presented on BBC radio.

Nauman was born in Lahore, Pakistan and has lived in Uganda, Dubai and the United States. He currently divides his time between London, Manchester and Pakistan.

His areas of interest and expertise include South Asian literature in English, the history of the British Empire, art from the subcontinent, world cinema and Bollywood.
