I want your country to be my country. I want Britain to be home. I'm trying to figure out how to make that happen now, but in the meantime, all I can do is try to offer my two cents and hope you'll take my input. Because with any luck, in any time, I'll join you. And my kids will be one of you. And that means your election, especially with Brexit, matters to me immensely.

It's simple, really. It's not about flavour or fat content at all. If lamb wants to find its way into more American mouths, it just needs to get onto the promotional bandwagon, toot its own horn, and recast itself as "the Cute Meat" or "Lamb - we're not all baaaaad" or similar slogan. Hire Beyonce to one-up Lady Gaga and wear a lamb dress.

Half a dozen constituents are sitting in his living room when I arrive, but he has agreed to share his views on the drone campaign in his native Waziristan.

A holiday based around an emotion? Can the British cope with that? We can only just manage Valentine's Day. Having to express both romance and gratitude in one year might overload us. We're not great at giving thanks, at least not when it matters. I've said thank you to shop assistants probably a hundred times in the last year. Have I thanked my parents for bringing me up in that time, or my partner for his support? Of course not.

The UN speeches from Palestine and Israel last Friday apparently meant little to Americans, where media coverage of any kind has been scanty. Neverthe...
