Shop prices increased at their fastest rate in more than a decade last month, the British Retail Consortium has said.
Some 650 lorries are currently stuck on the M20, and a further 873 moved to an airfield, as the government scrambles to reopen travel in and out of the UK.
The British Retail Consortium blamed Brexit uncertainty and weak consumer demand in a new report.
The fall of the retail giant is another sign that the remnants of the traditional British high street are in a grim place if they’re not able, or willing, to get with the programme – pronto.
