Christopher Maloney started out as the nervous Scouser on the 2012's 'The X Factor', but soon overtook Rylan Clark to become the series' most controversial contestant. After being originally sent home at Gary Barlow's bootcamp stage, the ex cruise ship singer was voted back into the competition as a wild card act and proceeded to annoy judges Tulisa and Louis Walsh with his renditions of 80s power ballads and regularly found himself booed by the studio audience. However, most of the controversy happened off stage, and Christopher was dogged with rumours about his 'diva' behaviour. These came to a head after he finished third on the show and was supposed to return the following night for the live final. According to reports, his role was axed after a vicious outburst at former contestant Carolynne Poole, said to be fuelled by alcohol.
