Modern day Kurdistan reaches across four sovereign states (Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria) yet still manages to inhibit an acknowledged ethnic community. Which is impressive, considering Kurdistan's history - suppressed acts of resistance, and betrayal by foreign entities.
