I was asked to attend the memorial service for Stephen Lawrence at St Martin in the Fields, a beautiful church in Trafalgar Square on 22 April and I was so honoured to be a part of something so significant and so positive, despite how tragic the reason for gathering was.

I will never say I regret doing the X Factor. It was a difficult experience but I learned so much from it. Without having been through all that I don't believe I would be where I am now, so I will always be grateful for the platform it gave me.
