Now my daughter is 10 and we have a fresh rendering of the GameCube classic in the form of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. It's a single player game so I had expected to play on my own. However, as soon as my kids discovered what I was doing they wanted to play as well.
Rather than too many consoles hindering the development of future technologies and eating into profits, we're now faced with a situation where two behemoths, Sony and Microsoft, enjoy near total domination of the market.
Although I don't doubt that the Wii U will not sell as many units as the Wii, I will suggest it won't be gathering dust. When the Wii 3 comes Nintendo will have raised a generation with their design ethos of gameplay over graphics, brain over brawn.
