British adventurer James Ketchell has become the first person to fly solo around the world in an open-cockpit gyrocopter after touching down in Popham Airfield in Hampshire. The 37-year-old flew over Europe, the USA and Asia, covering more than 24,000 nautical miles over his 122 separate flights.
A 77-year-old British woman has become the oldest person to sail around the world solo and unassisted. Jean Socrates arrived back in British Columbia on Saturday, September 7 after spending 330 days alone at sea. She began her voyage back in October 2018.
