The whole concept of How I Met Your Mother is based around Ted telling his kids the lengthy story of how he met their mother. Unfortunately, he is sidetracked by a whole lot of neediness, pathetic pining for 'the one', despite only being in his twenties...
It isn't just that Family Guy is a rival series that makes this move so emblematic of The Simpsons' slide. Al Jean, one of the few remaining staff writers who has been with the show from the beginning (albeit off and on), has referred to Family Guy as "derivative", and numerous sly accusations of plagiarism have made their way into recent episodes.
Rude, twisted, occasionally disturbing and often hilarious, South Park deserves its legions of fans. But even the most hardcore of those would wince at the idea of yet another South Park game. Thankfully, though, South Park - The Stick Of Truth, blasts all worries away, and delivers humour and fantastically authentic game play, in equal amounts.
I hate feeling like I'm missing out on something, especially if it's something from a world that I love. In this case it's the world of musical theatre and I seem to be missing out on the biggest musical comedy sensation for years, The Book Of Mormon, and I'm missing it out of my own free will.
