Want to keep your locks looking hot all summer long? I caught up with celebrity hairdresser Errol Douglas at his Knightsbridge salon to get some tips on holiday and festival hair.

Yesterday my thoughts turned to the highs, lows, pleats, cuts and layers of white fashion because Wimbledon starts on Monday, that time of year when we scrutinise the on-and-off courtside catwalk of both the players and watching celebrities, (would you call that a 'skort?' Where are her knickers?)

For me the main offender is flashing too much flesh. I understand when it's a hot day the last thing you want to do is wear body-covering clothes, but there are some style offences that are just socially unacceptable. Topless on the high street, sheer leggings and unkempt toenails are just the beginning and what follows next, on my list of summer fashion fails.

Up until a few days ago I had not bought a single item of clothing in three and a half months. Count them. Three and half months; that's 14 weeks or 98 days or even (approximately) 2352 hours.
