George Shelley, Josh Cuthbert, Jamie 'JJ' Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley - also known as Union J - were contestants on the ninth series of 'The X Factor' in 2012. Originally auditioning as a three piece called Triple J, Josh, JJ and Jaymi made it to Bootcamp before crashing out. However, after fellow contestants Rough Copy were forced to withdraw from the competition, they were invited to Louis Walsh's judges houses round, where George was added to the band. They went on to make the live stages and ended up coming forth, missing out on a spot in the grand final. However, despite not winning they soon landed a recording contract with Sony (with a little help from Simon Cowell probably), and look set to challenge One Direction for their boyband crown.
