The presenter is taking a more hands-on approach to his role as a DJ when he moves to Virgin Radio, though.
“I won’t be on that list anymore. The kind of high earners list, which I didn’t like being on,” the presenter said.
The presenter revealed last week that he was leaving his Saturday morning Radio 2 show after 10 years.
He was previously one half of the duo Pete And Geoff, with Geoff Lloyd, on Virgin Radio.
The presenter was named the top-earning BBC star in 2017, and second-highest in 2018.
Instead, he claimed Chris’ upcoming move was fuelled by a desire for 'a change'.

Chris Evans is leaving Radio 2 to rejoin Virgin Radio, he has confirmed. The DJ announced that he was stepping down from the Breakfast Show at the end of this year, 13 years after hosting his first show on the station.
