Enthusiasm is the Secret of Business

There is nothing as bad as walking into a business looking to make a purchase and the casher or business owner is sitting in a corner with their head stuck in a newspaper, a laptop or taking a personal call on their mobile.

There is nothing as bad as walking into a business looking to make a purchase and the casher or business owner is sitting in a corner with their head stuck in a newspaper, a laptop or taking a personal call on their mobile. They are aware that you have entered their place of business but just couldn't be bothered making an effort. They have lost their enthusiasm to engage with customers and do business.

Enthusiasm doesn't just happen. You have to work at it by creating the right mindset and working conditions. It's a passionate raw energy that comes from within. It's a positive energy that allows you to enjoy what you do and have fun. You feel positively uplifted and this in turn uplifts the people around you for the better.

Enthusiasm is that strong feeling that inspires and prompts you to act on desire. For me, it means to engage, to believe with blind faith, to be beaming with joy about what I do.

It's contagious to the point that when you are beaming with enthusiasm you won't be capable of hiding it. It can spread. Ralph Waldo Emerson, the great American writer wrote:

Nothing great has ever been achieved without enthusiasm

Richard Branson puts enthusiasm into everything he does and the result: Success. He doesn't just put it there at the start. It's a full time member of the team, there to see out the projects, missions and goals.

Enthusiasm is so powerfully that it allows you to lock onto your target goal and successfully get there with ease. When you have enthusiasm you have strong self believe in yourself, your projects and your business.

Eckhart Tolle, who is listed as the most spiritually influential person in the world wrote in his book 'A New Earth' that:

Enthusiasm is one of the three modalities needed to align your life to the creative power of the universe

The other two are acceptance and enjoyment.

When you start something new, be sure to start with buckets of enthusiasm, bring that enthusiasm with you right to the finishing line. Don't give it away. Don't let it fade. Allow it get big and bright. Let the world see it. It can be contagious for the people around you that want victory for you.

Let go of the people who don't get it or don't wish to be aboard your ship. That's the ingredient for success in your business. It has the power to change consumer behavior and how the customer views the business. So, if you have a business and find that you prefer to keep your head buried in a corner behind the cashier desk simply pondering in the clouds instead of getting up and wowing your customers, change the chip. Get excited by what you do and let the enthusiasm spread.
