The Unelected Goon Who Made Those Corbyn Comments Should Be Court Martialled

Who is the real threat to national security? Is it the democratically elected Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn? Or is it the general who has threatened democracy and the freedom of the British people to elect their leaders? At least Jeremy Corbyn has the guts to speak for himself, rather than hiding behind the 'unnamed general' mask.

"The Army just wouldn't stand for it. The general staff would not allow a prime minister to jeopardise the security of this country and I think people would use whatever means possible, fair or foul to prevent that."

Where do you think this quote comes from? Can you guess who said it?

Perhaps it was Augustus Pinochet, Commander-in-Chief of the Chilean Army speaking in 1973 before the coup d'état that overthrew the democratically elected president, Salvador Allande, leading to a murderous military dictatorship.

Perhaps it was Francisco Franco, a Spanish General, speaking in 1936 before leading a vicious coup against the democratically elected government which led to a brutal civil war.

Distressingly, this comment did not come from a 20th century general, nor from a third-world despot. It was, in fact, the grim threat of a senior British Army general in the 21st century - a man who is brave enough to send our young men to war but too much of a coward to put his name to this attack on democracy. He was talking about newly elected Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn.

Surely, the job of the Army is to defend Britain and it's values. Although Britain's 'values' may be subject to great debate, I can say without doubt that democracy is at its core. This general has opted to disregard the will of Labour members in electing Jeremy Corbyn with a compelling mandate.

In modern Britain, treason is a crime which is no longer considered relevant. Fortunately, neither are military coups. This general has given the law new meaning by suggesting the army should undermine, subvert and otherwise disrupt the will of the people in the event of an election result he finds disagreeable.

Our next Prime Minister will be decided by crosses on ballot papers. If this unelected goon in the military high command thinks he can dictate our votes to us, he is mightily mistaken.
