Burger Blind Date at TGI's...

The night rounded off with what could only be the most embarrassing and funny thing in the whole of TGI's... receiving our burger face pictures. Earlier on a guy came around snapping pictures of us making our 'burger faces' before we tucked into the delicious food. You can see my stunning burger face below...

I've never been on a blind date before, especially not with a burger. Yesterday history changed and I experienced a burger blind date first hand with my own partner at the Cabot Circus Bristol TGI Friday location. It was a last minute arrangement through the wonders of social media that helped me be a part of this burger event in Bristol.

I might be a little biased because I've always been a lover of TGI's food, regularly attending locations across the UK and US with family and friends, however there was something about the secretive element to the night that made me extra excited to be there. As soon as my partner and myself walked into the restaurant it was filled with burger enthusiasts raring to taste the delicious burgers up for grabs.

We were quickly escorted to the bar where we were greeted by the bar staff who discussed with us our favourite juices and spirits, so they could design us a drink to meet our needs. I even got to have a go at mixing the drink, it's a lot harder than it looks or that might just be me being a wimp; probably the second one. Either way the drinks were amazing, it's great to see a bunch of guys who know what they're doing when it comes to making cocktails; especially if you're not sure which one to choose, they'll do the choosing for you and make sure they provide you with a drink your taste buds will smile about.

After the cocktail making session we were ushered over to our table and they explained the event night and what we were going to experience. All I heard was the word burger. I was sold.

Like I said, I've never been on a blind date but this one was incredible. Placed in front of us was a menu, not just your standard TGI's menu but our burger blind date menu with a list of a range of burgers all listed by their traits, and not their ingredients. Sound interesting? It really was. I'm quite a fussy eater, so having to choose my meal by what the 'burger was like' and not by what was in it, made me a little scared. Not going to lie. Yet, after sitting there and reading the captions 'I'm the simplest of burgers, but one bite and you'll never go back.' it made me feel a little adventurous. I've always been that sort of person who goes to a restaurant chooses something I know I'll like and then keeps having that same meal every time I go there. So having the choice taken away from you and matching your burger up with the description really makes for a great evening and I tried something new!! My burger probably wasn't as 'out there' as it could've been but mine came with an old school cheese triangle and even more cheese on top. I like cheese. So it was the perfect burger for me!!

The goodness didn't even stop there, my fries came loaded with Samuel Adams brewery own made cheese and lashes of bacon on top... beer flavoured cheese? Yes, you did hear correctly and it was goooooood. I've been to Boston myself and visited the Samuel Adams brewery so to hear that combination was a delight. You have to try it!

Well after winding down the evening with some rich chocolate brownies, I can honestly say that this experience has made me change my mind about food. I'm going to try and be more risky when I choose my meals and try new things more often I think. The experience was one I'll never forget, the staff played a huge role in making all of us bloggers feel loved and they definitely achieved that.

Want to know a final secret? You can be a part of the experience too and taste an off the menu burger the next time you head to a TGI's near you. Want to know how? Just tell your waiter/waitress 'I'll have what Jack's having....' You'll then be graced by the burger of all burgers. Give it a go and have a burger blind date yourself.
