Sun, Sea, Sand and Festivals, Ejector Seat Festival Is Back!

Back after a year's break, Southampton's Ejector Seat Festival is ready to go, and has never been better. Held in Palmerston Park on Saturday 8 June, in the city centre of Southampton; East India Youth are set to headline the community based festival amongst other local talents like Brother Goose, Spectral Park and Cloudi Lewis.

It's that time of year, where the sun is out and everyone has high spirits. There's nothing like a nice family day out or a spontaneous trip which ends up being one of the best during the Summer time.

I don't know about you but there's nothing better than sitting in the sun, listening to music, with a bunch of friends eating glorious food. Well, how would you like to do all of this but with even more?

There's not much more you could ask for than being able to enjoy the nice weather whilst experiencing local talent and community spirit.

The melting pot acoustic stage is also performing with a stripped down acoustic sound, with names like Nick Tann and Jigfoot.

Well, if music isn't your scene? Then you can head to the Spoken Word tent where poetry from Luke Wright and Dizraeli will be surrounding your ears.

Still not enough? The festival is packed with DJ sets, Arts stalls, free workshops, street acts and magic. Fun for all the family within this family-friendly festival.

What's even better is that the event is completely free to anyone.

Thanks to support by the Arts council, and many contributors, this day has been able to go ahead and create a buzz for the city of Southampton. The festival is mainly volunteer based and holds onto that community feel.

The festival will be held on the 8th June from noon till 10pm so make sure you come down to experience the popular city event. With over 4000 attendees in 2011, we're hoping to get more and more people getting a taste of Southampton's range of Festivals this year, starting with The Ejector Seat festival.

Charlie Hislop, the organiser of this years festival says "It's fantastic that Ejector Seat is back after the break last summer. We've got a great line-up of mainly local talent over three stages and lots of the wonderful art creations that have become the hallmark of Ejector Seat. It's set to be the South's best free event this year."

I'll be helping out at this years festival myself and it would be lovely to see as many faces as possible turn up for the event.
