Getting Your Mind in the Zone to Success

You've heard people say, "It's all in the mind," true enough half of our battles are won if only we are able to put our minds on it. As humans capable of dreaming and yearning for more in life, we set out to achieve different goals and embark on projects. But the sad thing is, most of these plans are left unfulfilled.

You've heard people say, "It's all in the mind," true enough half of our battles are won if only we are able to put our minds on it. As humans capable of dreaming and yearning for more in life, we set out to achieve different goals and embark on projects. At the start of each one, you sit and draft strategies and plans, but the sad thing is, most of these plans are left unfulfilled.

Why?

Because you say you're going to do one thing, but when it comes to it, you're doing the complete opposite!

This may be because you're lacking one very important thing--mental strength. Having the mind-set of a champion is what separates the best from the rest. People who have been successful in achieving their dreams set their minds on the goal with the unwavering determination to reach it. With the mental strength of a champion, they will not stop until they reach the finish line.

You will face challenges, some of them may even seem insurmountable, but if you have set your mind on a goal, then nothing will stop you. You just get up, learn from your experience, and keep moving forward. It may sound like a cliché, but there really is no better way to success. No matter how much you strategise, your mind must be determined if you want to achieve your goals.

How exactly do I do that?

  1. Try to evaluate what triggers your negative, defeating thoughts. Do they pop up when business is slow? When employees aren't performing as expected? When deals don't close on time? Everybody has their triggers, it's important to know how to defeat these "demons." If you let these thoughts run amok and create all sorts of negative thoughts in your mind, you are not likely to achieve any of your dreams!
  2. Watch the thoughts that you entertain. The more you entertain negative thoughts, the more they will dictate your emotions, and then your actions. If you fill your head with thoughts about failing, not being good enough, not being skilled enough, and then soon you will find yourself not good enough and not skilled enough.
  3. Talk to yourself with pre-planned "mantras of success." Empower yourself with lines like "I can do this!" "I will succeed on this project." Whatever it is that gets you down, plan a line to counter it and keep repeating that to yourself. No one knows what goes through your mind the way you do, so start preparing yourself to succeed, fill your mind with lines that will empower you, and counter every instance of defeat.
