The Joys of the Empty Mind

(1) Comments | Posted 5 September 2015 | (00:00)

I wrote some while back (who's counting the fact it was nearly nine months - I've been busy, bite me!) about the joys and sorrow of trying to have it all.... I promised to come back and tell you how I was getting on with my detox. Here...

Having It All? Or Spreading Yourself Thinner Than Marmite?

(0) Comments | Posted 29 December 2014 | (10:08)

So fashion is ma thang. That's normally what drives me to write, what floats my boat on a daily basis, pushes my buttons, gets me out of bed and makes me slip off my seat with joy (sorry for being vulgar but have you seen some of the new season...

All I Want for Christmas...

(0) Comments | Posted 15 December 2013 | (11:19)

No, not my two front teeth. Although I distinctly remember a school dinner lady who did lunchtime playground duty (remember those? *sighs*) used to sing that to me when I was about 5 years old. But I digress.

I'm not sure WHAT I really want to be honest. The sad...

Scents and Sensibility....

(0) Comments | Posted 14 December 2013 | (21:12)

Yeah alright smart arses, I know I normally write about fashion. But fashion and beauty all come under the same expensive umbrella of being a woman, so today, I'm talking perfume. That elixir in the glass bottle that can evoke such powerful memories so spontaneously!

So there I was,...

The Advertures of Me and My Handbag

(0) Comments | Posted 8 December 2013 | (19:00)

I love a new handbag. It can be brand new or just new to me, in fact I rather love an old bag too. Nothing excites my senses more than the whiff of leather, soft as a baby's bum and equally as biteable....

You see, for a lot of women,...

My Ode to the Jacket....

(0) Comments | Posted 8 December 2013 | (18:31)

I've a little confession to make... I am in love with jackets. There I said it. No going back now. Having just counted 35 in my wardrobe I thought I'd get rid of a few, you know, make a bit of room. On top of what I call my 'tailored...

Hey you lot! Long time no speak.

This fashion crazy bint has been up to her eyes in web redesign, shoes, big girls City job, collaborating on a jewellery range and sniffing handbags that you will want to swap a kidney for...

But enough about me.

What have you...

The Trouble With Mothers

(0) Comments | Posted 15 March 2013 | (20:41)

Like every parent, I have the bi-annual joy of attending parents evening. This week, it was my 14 year old sons' GCSE options evening. He's at the age where he has the social skills of King Kong - one minute he is roaring and beating his chest because I won't...

How Do I Wear It?

(0) Comments | Posted 3 March 2013 | (13:47)

Fashion week has been and gone, like a skinny whirlwind with extra long eye lashes. Whilst I get terribly excited about the new trends, I never follow them to the letter. Jeez, it would be impossible to keep up for a start. With fashion shops churning out new stock every...

That Mother/Daughter Thang

You know when you're in Top Shop with a teenager in tow (in my case my own but you may have borrowed one) and they want to buy the same thing as you? Well that! Or is it that you want to buy the same thing as them?

Please discuss.

Take One Old Dress

(0) Comments | Posted 11 February 2013 | (17:41)

As we've established dear readers, my affinity to something with a little bit of history knows no bounds. Show me an old tea dress in cracking condition and I'm interested. Give me a little provenance to that dress and I'm going over like a puppy on wet lino, tongue swinging...

Confessions Of My Spare Room

(0) Comments | Posted 31 January 2013 | (21:19)

I want you to know that I don't wear vintage every day. No sir! I am actually a little bit of a designer whore on the side... Give me access to Net-a-Porter, a juicy Malbec (see my bio) and a flexible friend (Monsieur's Visa or Amex, I'm not fussy) and...

Style Me Vintage!

(1) Comments | Posted 28 January 2013 | (23:03)

Having style and being fashionable are two very different qualities. It's pretty easy to be fashionable, the high street stores see to that, just copy the mannequin and away you go. But to tweak those outfits and make them your own takes confidence.

Style isn't about how much your...

Call Me Second Hand Rose....

(0) Comments | Posted 27 January 2013 | (19:14)

When I started my dress agency in 2009, my vision was to style the world 'vintage'. I don't necessarily mean wrap them in my nan's old tablecloth (though that could work if it was a Pucci print...) I was thinking more of adding old classics to your wardrobe to style...
