How Women Around Britain Are Redefining What Being A Mum Means

Here to make sense of Millennial motherhood, our guest editors Rochelle Humes and Tess Daly will be taking over HuffPost UK Parents for the day. Beyond their editorship, Tess and Rochelle are also fronting our new AOL Original series Being Mum, where they interview other celebrity mums on the challenges they face. The ladies chat to Emma Bunton about her fertility scare, Alesha Dixon on why she felt she had to hide her pregnancy from Britain's Got Talent bosses and Jade Jagger's scary school car run crash.

In 2015, the role of mum has undergone quite the evolution. Not so evolved that it doesn't involve changing nappies or stepping on a stray piece of Lego, but motherhood is no longer described as a 'job'.

As we know, it's much more than that.

A new piece of research conducted by Saatchi & Saatchi for Mumsnet, actually described it as an 'emotional journey'. Sure there are times when you're playing the role of carer - so looking after your kids and making sure they are safe.

But being a mum also means being their friend, their fan on the sidelines, colluding with them to break the rules (breakfast pizza, anyone?) and being an inspiration that they look up to.

Needless to say, it's an exciting time exploring what 'being mum' actually means.

Here to make sense of Millennial motherhood, our guest editors Rochelle Humes and Tess Daly will be taking over HuffPost UK Parents for the day.

As part of their commissioned content we'll be talking about the S-word - sleep - specifically how to get lots of it.

And we have an exclusive interview with the editors themselves, who talk about how being a mother has given them a newfound appreciation for their own mums.

In an honest interview with HuffPost UK Lifestyle writer Amy Packham, Tess said: "My own mother's parenting style has definitely rubbed off on me - but for the better I would like to think - in that being there for my children is my number one priority."

There isn't a parent among you that wouldn't agree with that. But we'd like to hear from you and tell us the challenges you face in your day to day parenting life.
