After a varied career in education and teaching cooking, I turned to academia to explore issues of Local Food, food access and relationships with the natural world. I am particularly interested in how bodily interactions with nature develop practical knowledge. Working in the rural South West of the UK, I have extensive networks with local food projects, enabling on the ground knowledge of food and health issues. Studying at The University of Exeter has enabled participating and presenting at National and International conferences, as well as extensive academic networking. The vibrant academic community at the university has strong research interests in sustainability, food and rural affairs. Working at home has drawn me to developing online social media profiles further enabling up to date interactions with food and health issues.

I am an advocate of fresh food and the power of cooking skills.
