We all know the big names Paris, New York, Milan, London... what about Singapore?

Nope? This is one area that should be on every fashionistas' lips as Singapore is set to become one of the biggest names to watch on the fashion radar.

Right now we are midway through the Audi Fashion Festival which hosts big names from the fashion world such as Carolina Herrera, Peter Pilotto as well famous faces sashaying down the runway.

One designer who is very aware of the clout this Island has is London based Ashley Isham who is showing this week.

"I feel that Asia is a strong, emerging market as Europe and America are still in a recession. The market in Asia is quite stable hence brands like even Karl Lagerfeld presented the Chanel Cruise collection in Singapore."

It just affirms how important the market in Asia is for emerging brand and the super brands alike. Asia is a new market and is open to new ideas and concepts hence it will be interesting to see how the market in Asia will develop in the future."

In terms of star attraction, the Fashion Festival has a strong cast supporting it. For Ashley, this is a major event in the fashion calendar.

"It is huge honour to be invited to be showing at Audi Fashion Festival again as I am after all a Singapore born, but London based designer. I am of course excited that designers like Mugler, Roland Mouret, Zac Posen, Costume National were part of the line up last year and this year amazing designers like Carolina Hererra, Colette Dinnigan, Peter Pilotto, Tsumori Chisato, Hussein Chalayan will be participating in Audi Fashion Festival 2013. It's super stressful but at the same time I am very very very excited and looking forward to some great amazing shows.

With thoughts of the economy forefront in every business mind at the moment is it any surprise that those in the know are heading East?

Ashley is in no doubt.

"I feel that Asia is a strong, emerging market as Europe and America are still in a recession. The market in Asia is quite stable hence brands like Karl Lagerfeld presented the Chanel Cruise collection in Singapore."
