If you were in charge of the UK Economy what would you spend the UK taxpayers money on?
Would you invest in a high-speed rail line that would save commuters 23 minutes on their journey? (You'd need £32 billion for that), or on a computer scheme for the NHS, that would allow doctors across England to access any patient's details (this will cost you £12 billion but it'll be scrapped before seeing the light of day).

In some case, you'll find the UK consumer didin't even know where their money was going. The PPI Scandal made in excess of £40 billion in profits for UK Banks. As you can see in the infographic below, £13 Billion has been set aside to deal with claims. Do the math - how has no one gone to jail for such fraudulent activity? I suppose it's just a billion here, a billion there...
