Seth Berkley, the CEO of the GAVI Alliance, has been at the forefront of vaccines and disease control for over 30 years. He was one of the first researchers to recognize the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Uganda and has consulted or worked in over 25 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Seth established, and led for 15 years, the public-private International AIDS Vaccine initiative. He joined the GAVI Alliance last year to lead its drive to immunise 250 million more children with life-saving vaccines by 2015.
