Don't Forget a Thing on Your Wedding Day...

Planning a wedding can be a massive undertaking and making sure all the details come together on your big day can be quite challenging. Some people hire a planner, others want to take complete control, and others have a mother (in-law) who likes to call the shots.

Planning a wedding can be a massive undertaking and making sure all the details come together on your big day can be quite challenging. Some people hire a planner, others want to take complete control, and others have a mother (in-law) who likes to call the shots.

But believe it or not, it's often the smallest details that get missed during last minute planning, so here's some help with a list of the most commonly forgotten wedding day items you won't want to overlook.

Flat Shoes

I can imagine women all over the UK letting out a huge sigh of relief at this first handy hint. You may have spent a fortune on your wedding shoes, but believe me, you'll want to give your feet a break after a few hours. Give your maid of honour a pair of flats to keep safe for when the time comes to taking the heels off.

Speeches

This really should have gone at the top as most important... forgetting your speeches would be a complete disaster. Remember to put them in your bag last, so you know you have them. And make a check list the week before, double checking everything. A great tip is to print our spare copies, giving one to a bridesmaid, your mother, a friend, anyone who you can trust. You don't want to be printing it off last minute!

Top It All Off

You spent hours designing your wedding cake, so don't forget the pièce de résistance - the wedding cake topper. Some couples choose to deliver the topper to the person that will be supplying the cake in advance of the wedding day, while others opt to bring it with them to place atop the sweet centerpiece themselves. Either way, make sure it doesn't get left behind because the last thing you want is a topless wedding cake.

Guest Book Essentials

It's not often that the guest book gets forgotten on the big day but many times couples tend to find themselves scrambling at the last minute for writing utensils to go along with it. If you're using a decorative pen for your guest book, make sure to bring it along. If not, be sure to pack a few extra standard pens to have on hand.

Put A Ring On It

One of the classic forgotten wedding day items in every movie is the wedding rings. While it may be the responsibility of the best man or maid of honour to make sure the wedding rings are on hand for the ceremony, it never hurts to double check to make sure they are actually present before the ceremony.

Settling The Bills

Another important detail to remember to have on hand as you leave for the ceremony is any last minute payments that need to be made to vendors upon delivery of service. Once again, this is a great task to outsource to a trusted member of your bridal party since we know you'll have your hands full but the last thing you want to do is get stuck holding a bill you don't have a way to pay for. The same goes for any tips for various vendors, including drivers, servers, or other wedding day staff.
