Once upon a time, there was a Polish high school student who without much thought announced: “I’m moving to England!” Amused friends and concerned family would ask: “Why? How? What, for God’s sake, Sonia are you going to do there?” When she eventually got tired of all these questions, she blurted out the first thing that came to her head: “I will study Dance and Creative Writing in London.” She packed her bags, gave the whole affair as little thought as before and set off on her adventure. Fast-forward 4 and a half years, she is still here. Writing to entertain you!

Since the thoughtless move, Sonia, fell in love in London, began couch surfing, travelling, finished university and now explores the adulthood still following one rule of no thinking.

30 Rock Lessons on Sustainable Office

(0) Comments | Posted 1 December 2014 | (13:46)

Winter is no longer coming, it is officially here. I should know because I've been consistently freezing in the office for the past couple of weeks. As much as I love my woolly jumpers, it is not the "ugly Christmas sweater" season yet.

I get where this is coming...

As Cool as Carrie Bradshaw: Telly Show Style in Your Home

(0) Comments | Posted 3 November 2014 | (16:35)

I've got an addiction and they haven't made patches for it yet. There are no groups to help me and no support. In fact, telly shows actively feed my habit.

It's time for me to stand up and admit it to myself. My name is Sonia - and I'm...

Celebrity Spruce: Fearne's Fashion Collection Hits the Spot

(0) Comments | Posted 1 October 2014 | (00:59)

I have a confession to make: I'm slightly obsessed with Fearne Cotton.

Considering she's married to a rocker, stars in Celebrity Juice AND hosts a radio show that helps get me through the day, it's no wonder I harbour a teensy weensy girl crush.

Just don't tell my boyfriend......

Burma Travel: Three Years On

(0) Comments | Posted 22 July 2014 | (09:56)

Throttled by international sanctions since 1990, Burma was a pariah state that once ranked alongside North Korea as one of the worlds most isolated and opaque nations.

Burma's fortunes have changed rapidly. Since 2010, catalysed by the release of the pro-democracy leader and Nobel laureate, Aung San Su Kyi,...

Beautiful Swan: How to Achieve Kristen Stewart's Unblemished Look

(0) Comments | Posted 15 May 2014 | (11:46)

There's nothing quite like a vampire-themed fantasy film to make you feel self-conscious about the shocking state of your skin.

Thanks to an epic Twilight marathon and hours of staring green-eyed at Kristen Stewart's porcelain features, it's enough to make any self-respecting woman howl at the moon in resentment....

How to Add Value to Your Home the Traditional Way

(3) Comments | Posted 28 April 2014 | (18:37)

According to Luther Vandross, a house is not a home when there's no one there to hold you tight and no one there you can kiss goodnight.

Try telling that to Phil Spencer.

Taking umbrage with Mr Vandross, Channel 4's property guru would cite the location of a...

Channelling Llewelyn-Bowen: Interior Design on a Shoestring

(0) Comments | Posted 24 April 2014 | (13:18)

Television home makeover shows have a lot to answer for.

Not content with unleashing Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and his flowery flamboyance on the world, the genre has turned me into a nervous wreck fretting about the puffiness of my pillows.

But it's not just me who's letting interior design...

Decorate Your Own Easter Eggs

I love being an expat in London. For the past 5 years, it's been tremendously exciting to discover your culture, drink your Pimm's and watch your TV. By now I have my own Fantasy Football League, I cycle on the streets of London like a blond, fearless Boris and I...

Blackpool or Dubai for the Bucket List But It's a Tough Choice

(0) Comments | Posted 31 March 2014 | (10:38)

We all have a bucket list buried somewhere inside our heads. At least we all like to think we do. And, given the right set of circumstances, at some hopefully distant point in the future, out it'll come ready to be fulfilled. Truthfully, most of us are just kidding ourselves....

Happy New Year (TV)

(0) Comments | Posted 7 October 2013 | (01:16)

The New Year officially starts on the 1st of January, but frankly, does it really? Perhaps the tube fares go up a little, but nothing else changes. For me, the New Year really kicks off in autumn when school, college, uni, everything starts all over again. Although my school days...

Nature vs Tech: Battle for My Heart

I was born in a city but my parents always took me for weekends away in nature. When I was young, we would go picking mushrooms in forests, sailing on lakes and hiking mountains. Now that I'm responsible for planning my own holidays, I can't really decide if I prefer...

Think Different This Summer

(0) Comments | Posted 24 June 2013 | (18:13)

If you're anything like me, you plan your summer activities with your mates and end up going to the same festivals every year. Lazy Londoners have enough music festivals around the city, they don't even have to travel and camp anywhere. This is bad! Get out of your comfort zone...

A Girlfriend's Guide to Fishing

"Hey honey," I said, hands on my hips and a look of incredulity plastered across my face. "Do you know what I've always dreamed of? Putting these hands in a bucket full of maggots, staring into the water for 10 hours straight and a flapping fish slapping my face! I...

Jimmy Fallon will Host The Tonight Show!

I thought it was April Fool's hoax, when I saw the video of Jimmy Fallon and Jay Leno singing Tonight from West Side Story suggesting that Jimmy will host the Tonight Show. Late Night hosts' challenges and rivalry are a recurring joke. However, it wasn't a joke this time! Jimmy...
