Sophie Turner Laing has held the position of Managing Director of Entertainment and News at Sky since March 2008. She has overall responsibility for Sky’s entertainment and news portfolio, including Sky1, Sky2, Sky3, Sky Movies, Sky Box Office, Sky Arts, Sky Atlantic, Sky 3D and Sky News. Alongside this she serves as a Governor of the National Film & TV School. She has spent her entire career in the media sector, with previous roles including Controller of Programme Acquisition at the BBC and Vice-President of Broadcasting at Flextech (now Virgin Media). She has been a Non-executive Director at Debenhams plc since August 1, 2009. In addition, she serves as a Trustee of BAFTA.
