Ovo Energy was created because someone wanted to do things differently.

In 2009, fed up with the confusion and frustration that he experienced as an energy customer, Stephen Fitzpatrick, a former banker with no formal training in the retail sector, set out on his own journey.

“I just couldn’t understand why the energy business was so complex and service so poor. Everyone kept telling me it wouldn’t be possible for someone outside of the industry to come in and make energy cheaper, greener and simpler. I’m very pleased to have proved them wrong!”

Stephen saw the problems and quickly identified the solution: a new type of energy supplier, one born from a customer’s point of view, where simplicity is the constant goal delivered with outstanding customer service.
