Steve Towells
Armed with one of those fancy degrees and a penchant for tommyrot, Steve has used all of his expertise to create a football blog which one reader described as mildly amusing. In his younger days he wrote theatre reviews for the Bath Chronicle and managed to get his face on the Guardian website- and not just in the form of an incriminating Photo-Fit. As well as Huffington Post Sport, he’s also written for various other online publications, including Sabotage Times, the digital magazines Football Week and EFM and the website A Different League.

His greatest achievement, however, was beating Ron Atkinson in the Bloggers vs. The Sun Prediction League during the 2010 World Cup. It’s all been downhill from there.

A time often associated with great panic and bewilderment for most Tottenham fans, it must've been some relief that this summer's TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY!!!(!)$$£$404error$!!- as declared officially by the parping cyborg mouth-trumpet of Jim White- was rather a mundane one.

The morning starts with dear old 'Arry Redknapp addressing...

There was a time when anything you couldn't learn about Belgian football from watching the occasional reel of Enzo Scifo on Eurogoals or owning a copy of Championship Manager 97/98 in which an aged and apostrophe-feral Michel Preud'homme would wander the free transfer prairie from one close-season to the next...

With Manchester United now just a tiny, minuscule speck in the distance for the chasing hoards, everything else in their wake looks fair game.

Pioneer of the mysterious False 7½ Winger and football's cod-philosopher-in-chief, Brendan Rodgers, claimed that fourth place wasn't out of reach for his steadily improving Liverpool...

It's not been the easiest of returns to the first team for Spurs' Scott Parker. But with a season-wrecking injury to one of their leading men, it's time the former FWA Player of the Year took centre stage again.

There's something reassuringly old-fashioned about Scott Parker as a footballer;...

Why Spurs Can't Afford Another Quiet January Transfer Window

(1) Comments | Posted 24 January 2013 | (09:36)

With Sandro out and options up front looking decidedly thin, Tottenham should act now to avoid another late-season burn-out.

Money can't by you happiness, the old saying goes. Well, yes, Comrade IdealWorld, but if you're a Premier League team and the cold bastard drag of winter has brought your campaign...
