There seemed to be a need for a striker at Arsenal and with rumours of Demba Ba signing for us very soon - which maybe true or false - this game may have changed Wenger's mind with regard to the striker's department.
Whatever happens, we are in store for one of the most important and exciting January transfer windows in Arsenal history. Let's hope it has an even bigger magnitude than the 2009 winter window where a certain Andrei Arshavin was signed on deadline day.
From what seemed to be a crisis (according to the negative fans and media) - quite frankly doesn't seem like one anymore (if it was one in the first place.) If anything, the season is well and truly bright and hopefully 2013 sees us get something more than a top four finish.
Who knows what butterfly effect would have occurred had Koscielny and Szczesny not had that last minute moment to forget? Wenger will definitely have nightmares thinking about that as the 2010/2011 season was Arsenal's best chance of ending their trophy drought.
The chorus of boos that followed their defeat to Swansea at home this weekend could spell real trouble for the once lordly manager as the veneer of his stature is slowly eroding away by concerted discontent.
I have no doubt that all of Arsenal's squad can probably balance a football on the ends of their penises and juggle it whilst playing a game of Fifa; they're without question technically gifted players. But they all seem presently to lack it.
