When I look back at my time on Shameless over the last three years, I honestly feel a warmth. The shows spirit, the characters, the writing, the crazy story lines, the constant pushing of boundaries. I have to say, Utopia is simply the best television series I've watched in a long time. There are so many elements of its writing that makes it a poignant piece including the future of man kind, the secretive nature of government for our greater good and, ultimately, man's struggle for knowledge.

Satire needs a standpoint, an alternative perspective, and Brooker does not really have one: just a keen sense of the ridiculous nature of the established order.
