With the teams sorted, I'm moving on to the personalities of the sport. The supposedly best drivers in the world in 2012 (and a well funded Venezuelan) are headed by Sebastian Vettel, who took his third championship. He may have taken the title but the story isn't quite that simple.

Kimi Raikkonen said earlier this year in what was one of his best quotes, "The winner is the one who scores the most". That does not necessarily mean that they ranked the best through the year - at least in my view. So I present over the next series of blogs my top teams and drivers of 2012.
