A large packing case suspended from the gallery ceiling throws out images on a loop of David Cameron. His face replaced with the indices of the stock markets juxtaposed with scenes from the London riots. In the short time its been up it seems to have already created quite an impression with passers by and local residents.

In liberal Britain right now it seems the gay marriage law is about to be passed, the country is, in effect, rewriting what it believes to be right. Is there any chance this ethos can spread to those young men who are portrayed in El Hosain's film?

Bruce Willis and the Vanishing Car

I'm quite sure that by the strict letter of the law, Hackney Council are perfectly entitled to take my car and charge me that money because - despite being an Olympic Park away (almost) from where I was parked - they had put up a sign.

Street Food, Street Food Everywhere and Not a Pitch in Sight: Boris, We Need You!

It is no secret that street food in London is thriving. Every month new traders hit the scene with mind boggling new concepts and taste combinations crazy enough to make Heston think twice... But our own experience thus far has been fraught by intransigent councils and endless negotiating with the powers that be.

Looking for an Ethical Bank? It Could be Quicker Looking For a Credit Union, but Simply 'Moving Your Money' Isn't Enough if You Really Care

Last week the new Barclays chief, Anthony Jenkins, called on banks to become more socially useful and to rebuild their customers' trust as revelations of greed, risk and fraud continue four years after the financial meltdown. Until that day arrives, however, there are already banking service providers that are just that; trustworthy and socially useful. They're called credit unions.

When asked what they can do to tackle the problem young people shrug saying they feel powerless. Unaware of their rights or how to complain - or if indeed its even worth doing so - they accept stop-and-search as a fact of life.

I emerge, blinking, at Dalston Kingsland Station following my long journey down from Scotland. I'm here to find out just how 'cool' London really is in this Olympic year. The first things I see are banners erected by Hackney Council on the lampposts up and down the main drag. They read: "London 2012: Letz all f***in' smile!" and "London 2012: innit".

Hackney is my home. I have lived in and around the area all my life. Lots of my friends and family live here and it holds lots of great memories from my years growing up in the area. Supporting Our Future Flames...

The Future Flames idea is sick... and something that I feel really strongly about. It takes young kids from different parts of the country that are really doing great things for their area - these kids are pushing positivity despite the issues or problems that life has thrown at them. These kids have used their passions to inspire others and having met some of them - its pretty humbling. They have all done amazing things and it just really drills down to what it's all about. These youngsters are our heroes of tomorrow and I feel very lucky to be involved with such a thing.

A Reflection of Mania

I am aware that I'm a liability when manic. Ironically the hideous lows that follow are accompanied by self-loathing which makes the reflection period a bit like watching an EastEnders' Christmas special with your eyelids staples back whilst sitting on a block of ice.

Hackney - Acquired for Development

In a borough as diverse as Hackney, you will never capture the area in its entirety, and this was never our intention. What the books is, is our version of our neighbourhood. What made it so special to create, was that we found we weren't the only people striving to mark what is going on here, and we certainly aren't the only ones interested in it.
