This week Eva Longoria invited me to co-chair the Global Gift Gala that she organizes every year in Paris, Cannes, London, Marbella, LA and Mexico. It is an amazingly generous event where she honors a charity and this year they are honoring the charity I established with Mariella Frostrup fighting for gender equality in the world.
Topless Ukrainian feminists, Femen were taken off a roof by firemen hundreds of feet above a far right demonstration in central Paris this afternoon. Four women, including the groups leader, Inna Shevchenko occupied a balcony above a crowd of hundreds of members of extreme right wing groups to protest against neo-Nazism.
After a very long wait, Spring has finally arrived in Paris. At Vogue.fr we have been anxiously waiting to dig into our warm weather wardrobes for what feels like months, and can't wait to wear our springy pieces once again. To celebrate the belated, but very welcome spring, we've gathered our favourite looks from Spring/Summer 2013.
Feminism means that gender equality should become the norm. It is a work of changing the mentalities now and here, the wrong habits of inequality in our world. I was born in Casablanca in Morocco and grew up in Paris; I was exposed to gender inequality early on in my life, and have always striven to fight openly against it.
The first place I went to after getting off the train was le Sacré-Cœur in Paris which is the most exquisite church I have ever visited! It was of course inundated with people especially what with it being Easter but I still managed to squeeze myself through the tourists to get an aerial view of Paris.
Running and training has had such a positive effect on so many aspects of my life that I can't see me giving it up any time soon. It is fair to say it has completely transformed my body. I've lost a stone and a half, developed a totally flat stomach and have slimmer arms, so obviously the physical benefits are definitely worth it!
So it looks like the Child With a Dove, Picasso's moving image of a small child clutching a bird, subject of a thousand postcards, is to go. What a tragedy. Or is it? What, exactly, is to be 'lost'? The painting is not actually to be destroyed (though you might be forgiven for thinking so) and is not, nor has ever been, in physical jeopardy.
