This year marks the 25th anniversary of one of the most iconic trainer styles - the Nike Air Max. As part of their celebrations to mark the occasion, Nike commissioned various London artists to interpret some classic Air Max styles and the results now form part of a 'Nike Air Max Reinvent' exhibition...

I love shoes. Shoes don't care how much Quality Street you ate over Christmas, the straps won't strain after a big dinner and they are so much easier than clothes to shop for as the sizes tend to be pretty standard across brands, with far less variation than you find in clothing.

Seems there's a gold rush going on at the moment everywhere (even the Team GB trophy cabinet) with glistening, golden shades shining from shop rails, beauty displays and shoe stores. When it comes to metallics I'm usually a silver or bronze girl although I do love a rose gold, especially for eyeshadows and jewellery.

I love busting out a silver shimmer- it's my go-to, year-round shade for adding sparkle to an outfit and I'm never without my Elsa Peretti for Tiffany open heart hoop style earrings, one of many silver chains and my beloved Frank Gehry torque ring but it's not just for jewellery. My disco ball style silver nails have been drawing lots of unsolicited compliments of late and I would lend someone my kitten for a pair of the silver Isabel Marant wedge heel trainers, pictured below.

I adore America. I also love a bit of theme dressing. As a kid I spent a lot of Independence Days in the States and, even though with the exception of having a few American relatives, I don't really have any reason to celebrate 4th July, for me it's just a great excuse to dress up, eat some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and drink even more Diet Coke and Starbucks than usual.

Nike really are smashing it at the moment. Never mind the Air Wovens, Flyknits or the mad Yeezy II hype, for me it's all about the understated, super tactile designs of NIKECraft, the new collaboration with bricolage sculpture artist Tom Sachs.

Whilst I often like Nikes I see in stores, they never really grabbed me until the Nike X Liberty collaborations, fusing sports technology with heritage print fabrics from London's iconic department store. I'm sold.

I've had a bad run of it recently with shoes. First my gorgeous new heels inexplicably went from a wonderful, glove-like fit to cutting off the circulation in my toes, then the triple height crepe soles of my beloved vintage pony hair creepers split in two.

When I think of monolithic sportswear brands and their highly questionable supply chains, I just have to resign myself that the Gazelle and the Chuck T are both one of those "It was great while it lasted, and even though you're still hot, it just isn't working for me anymore," relationships.

Ever since I used to wear Grolsch tops on my Dr. Marten school shoes, I've loved a shoe accessory. So, coupled with a trainer obsession, Shoeture was bound to be a smash hit fashion fit for me.
