I'm Cooking Up a Storm for the HuffPostUK's First Birthday

As this is a very special occasion, I have made a classic Italian birthday cake for the HuffPost UK team with Génoise sponge steeped in grappa, layered with crème di mascarpone, and then covered with fresh raspberries...

I'm thrilled to be posting my inaugural blog on The Huffington Post UK's 1st birthday.

I am firm believer in simple, rustic, seasonal fare lovingly put together with the best ingredients. Over the coming months, I'll be showing just how simple great authentic Italian dishes really are to create. Made in just six steps or less, these quick and simple recipes are great after a long day and can be enjoyed alone or with the family.

But as this is a very special occasion, I have made a classic Italian birthday cake for the HuffPost UK team with Génoise sponge steeped in grappa, layered with crème di mascarpone, and then covered with fresh raspberries. This beautiful cake is a traditional Italian treat and will be served at the birthday party tonight.

Congratulations to The Huffington Post UK team! Here's to another great year and I hope you enjoy the cake.
