Recipe for the Weekend: Tagliatelle With Girolles

This weekend I thought a really simple pasta dish would be a great way to indulge and unwind after a long week.

The trickiest part about this recipe is probably finding the girolle mushrooms, but they are worth looking for...

This rich and luxurious dish has a lovely delicate apricot flavour from the girolles mushrooms and would pair really well with a Chianti Classico.

Yeah, right. I've been mushroom hunting for years and I've never once found a real chanterelle. Let alone in August. Little bit ambitious for a weekend recipe. Nice to see a veggie recipe on here though. Implausible though it might be!

Our local market(Wegmans) actually carries them in stock. A bit pricey at $20/lb mind you... but they are available.

I've seen them in lots of Paris greengrocers, but very rarely in UK shops. Maybe Wegmans could expand in this direction!
