Berry Bros. & Rudd, Reserve Red, France

BBR have recently revamped their own label wines and this new Reserve Red made by Jean-Luc Terrier in the Languedoc is an absolute cracker. It is a blend combining Merlot with Grenache and Syrah. I love the whiff of fresh-cracked stones and pepperiness of the nose, adding a refined, herbal and cooler climate touch of elegance to the juicy cherry fruit. In the mouth it bursts with supple, fleshy red fruit, edged with bittersweet cocoa and spice, and with fine balancing acidity. With a modest 13% alcohol it is a seriously delicious wine and it is deliciously serious for its price. The perfect upmarket house red. 88/100. £8.45 but N.B. I have included 2 bottles of this wine in a mixed case of 12 wines that BBR is offering exclusively for my visitors with 27.5% off. That brings the equivalent price of this down to just £6.12. The case is tremendous value, whilst stocks last from: Berry Bros. & Rudd. Please note: neither I nor Huffington Post earns any commissions or fees on sales of this wine or mixed case. The overall saving on the mixed case is £40, with free delivery. Enjoy!
