Victoria Uwonkunda is originally from Rwanda, but she counts Norway as her second home. Along the way, she has lived in several countries. While pursuing her studies in Media and Political sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), she wrote for the student paper UnderDusken, served as a member of the student parliament and represented Norway as a youth delegate at the UN General Assembly.

She started her professional career in Norway where she worked for Utrop, the country’s first multi-cultural newspaper, then did a short stint at Norway’s largest newspaper, Verdens Gang (VG), after that she worked in various capacities at Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).

Since moving to the UK at the beginning of 2011, she has interned at the BBC World Services and worked at the Voice Newspaper as online journalist, as well as working as account executive at global tolerance, a specialist communications agency. She is currently job searching.

She blogs regularly about various aspects of life and is a Twitter-holic. Things she does well: cooking, writing, dancing, learning new languages and putting together IKEA furniture. Things she doesn’t do very well: maths, laundry and coming up with things to write in her bio.
