Known for his ultra modern, architectural design, footwear designer Nicolas Kirkwood won the British Fashion Council's BFA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize for 2013, at a ceremony in London last night.
Footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood was honored with the British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund award for 2013 at a London ceremony last night, in recognition of the creativity of his genre-blending architecturally inspired designs, craftsmanship and catwalk work alongside Ready-to-Wear designers . The Fund, headed by British Vogue Editor Alexandra Shulman, was set up four years ago to support young design talent in the UK and has previously honored Erdem, Christopher Kane and Jonathan Saunders. The prize will see Nicholas Kirkwood receive €200,000 to help him grow his business and also benefit from a tailored mentoring programme, with access to senior fashion figures, over the next 18 months, in well-deserved recognition for the British designer, who already won a British Fashion Award in 2010.
