The British are coming... The Summer, the August issue takes a closer look at fashion's London legends and meets the new-generation movers and shakers who are making the city the place to be this summer. Out July 19, in print, on your iPad and on your iPhone.

For Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Emmanuelle Alt, the two cities may be a couple of hours away, but "London and Paris are worlds apart. From Victorian terraces to futuristic architecture; a multicultural mix and an adored royal family, you can't fail to be struck by the city's unique mix of British reserve and English eccentricity, nourished by the centuries of tradition that anchor this island people".

Shot by British photographer David Sims, Vogue Paris' London special is fronted by Daria Werbowy playing punk-aristo in an officer's jacket paired with a simple nose ring. The fusion between these contrasting - yet very British - references continues inside the magazine in editorials from Vogue's biggest photographers, as Inez & Vinoodh push the two sides of London's cultural heritage to the extreme with Anja Rubik, while Allasdair McLellan captures the Camden girl and David Sims immortalizes high priestess of British fashion, Vivienne Westwood in a profile that takes us back to her punk roots, to trace the history of who carved a place for herself in the British fashion firmament. The August issue is a window onto the city, featuring eternal fashion icon Kate Moss lensed by David Bailey, alongside more recent faces on the London style scene including accessories designer Charlotte Olympia, London girls Georgia May Jagger and Edie Campbell and musical prodigy King Krule.

London's calling this summer and if you can't make it over; get hold of the magazine on newsstands, your iPad and your iPhone, from July 19.
