John Terry Sparks Gambling Concern After Remortgaging House For Fourth Time

John Terry Sparks Gambling Concerns Over £4.6m Debt

Footballer John Terry has sparked concern among his friends and family after remortgaging his house for a fourth time.

Chelsea captain John, who rakes in £170,000-per-week, isn't exactly short of a few pennies but has remortgaged his house once again - taking his loan up to a massive £4.6m.

Land Registry records show that the 31-year-old took out the loan last June, sparking rumours the sports star is facing financial difficulties due to an alleged gambling habit.

In February last year it was revealed that the England skipper closed a number of accounts with various bookmakers and settled huge losses after implementing a payment plan.

The star is known to enjoy betting on the races and football matches he is not connected to, as well as splashing the cash in gambling mecca Las Vegas with his footie mates.

John bought his £2.25m mansion in Oxshott, Surrey in July 2003, but now the mortgage has jumped to double its value. He also bought the £1.85m house next door for his mother-in-law, Sue Poole, in August 2007 - but also remortgaged that property in June last year.

He also bought a £3.15m house for his mum, Sue Terry, nearby, but attempted to sell it last year in a bid to free up some cash.

The footballer caused controversy recently after attempting to turn his home into a 10-bedroom super mansion which angered locals after they discovered it would take seven years to complete.

John has since put plans to rebuild his home on hold.

Speaking to The Sun, a friend said: "Everything is just up in the air at the moment and at present John is not prepared to invest the huge sums needed to build his dream house."
