French president Nicolas Sarkozy and his supermodel wife Carla Bruni want to have a baby - allegedly to help win votes at the next election.
Reports say the First couple of France are planning to have their first child in 2011.
Voici magazine says: "They are planning a surprise pregnancy to win public sympathy ahead of the campaign for the 2012 elections."
Allegedly the couple hit on the plan when Sarkozy got a swell of public support after collapsing jogging last month.
That's some serious cynicism there. And what if it doesn't work? Will they blame the baby for not being cute enough?
There's been no comment from the couple about the allegations but Carla has previously said they would like a baby.
Meanwhile the saga of Michael Jackson and "his kids" rumbles on. The surrogate mother of Jacko's youngest son, "Blanket" or "Prince Michael II" - not sure which is more ridiculous - has been revealed. Sort of.
The woman is apparently a Mexican nurse called Helena and was paid $20,000 to carry the child. The birth certificate says Jacko is the dad.
A friend of Michael said: "Michael wanted a designer baby. He had two wonderful children but wanted one more and was quite specific on the gene pool he wanted to tap into to." Ahhh. Isn't that sweet.
However it's still unknown who the actual egg donor was. She apparently signed over all of her legal rights to the child.
Over in Hollywood, it's been reported that Kate Hudson wants a baby with her baseball star boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.
A source said: "Kate just turned 30 and she's ready to have her second child. She wants Ryder to have a sibling, so she brought up the idea to Alex and told him that they would make a beautiful baby together, and that she would assume all financial responsibility."
Sounds like she may have identified a particular gene pool too.
The "Bride Wars" actress has only been dating the New York Yankees star since May.
However Alex, who split up with his ex-wife Cynthia last year, already has two daughters and apparently wants to wait before having any more children. Sensible chap.
