If anyone knows how to bring Americana to the catwalk, it's Ralph Lauren. For this season however, a whole host of designers turned to the Mid West for inspiration. Prairie inspired styles were evident in particular, with colourful floral print tunics and plaid patterned dresses making a strong appearance in many of the spring/summer shows. Gingham, denim and floppy hats were another strong reminder of life on the farm. The look was relaxed, the colours were bold and they styles were kept simple.
