Chris Evans Has Operation To Remove 'A Couple Of Pesky Little Problems'

Chris Evans, Breakfast Show presenter on Radio 2, has undergone an operation to remove growths from his colon.

Evans - whose father died of colon cancer - had a colonoscopy yesterday to remove what he called "a couple of pesky potential future little problems."

He wrote on his blog that they were swiftly removed and reassured his fans, "I'm afraid you're stuck with me for a few years longer at least."

The 45-year-old presenter, recommended everyone get regular checkups to prevent bowel cancer, which is now twice as likely to affect British men as it was 40 years ago.

He said, "Please, if you or anyone you know may have any worries down below, get them checked as soon as poss.

"This type of enemy is one hundred per cent beatable - providing you don't give it chance to fire the first shot."
