Emma Stone Admits Fear Of Not Pleasing Spiderman Fans With New Film, Starring Andrew Garfield

Emma Stone Fears Spiderman's Wide Web Of Fans Ahead Of Franchise Reboot

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Emma Stone has admitted she is struggling with the level of expectation placed upon her by Spider-Man fans.

The Easy A star has been cast opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker's love interest Gwen Stacy in the upcoming prequel movie about Spider-Man's school days, and admitted to movie blog Collider.com it's hard being in a film that has such a cult following before it is even released.

Stone said: "It's that expectation thing. I always struggle with expecting anything. I don't know what people are expecting from Spider-Man.

"When you are part of a movie that has a fan base already built in and it feels like everyone has read the script, which is rare because usually you know the story, as the actor, when you're talking about this stuff, and people have just seen the movie, but it's also that everyone has read the book or everyone has read the comics, and they come in with these expectations."

But the 22-year-old actress - who is rumoured to be dating Garfield after working with him on the new Spider-Man movie - is hoping fans will be happy with the film.

She added: "You just hope that they'll be happy with the way the story was told and the way it was translated for the screen."
