PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Action men Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford have joined forces on the red carpet for the premiere of their new film.

The pair, famed for their roles as James Bond and Indiana Jones, star together in Cowboys & Aliens, where they play two cowboys who team up to rid the world of an invasion from outer space.

Craig - who will soon reprise his part as 007 for the 23rd film in the secret agent franchise - admitted he was somewhat shaken and stirred by the opportunity to work with a childhood hero.

"I had a chance to pretend to be a cowboy with Harrison Ford - I couldn't think of anything better," he said amid screams from fans at The O2 in London.

The 43-year-old, who married Oscar-winning British actress Rachel Weisz earlier this year, said the differences between suave Bond and the gritty Wild West character did not enter his mind during filming.

"One wears chaps and the other doesn't, I suppose that's somewhere to start," he said.

Meanwhile, despite Ford, 69, appearing in countless blockbusters and playing characters such as Jones and starship pilot Han Solo in the original Star Wars trilogy, the veteran action star joked about never watching films.

"I don't watch movies!" he quipped.
