PRESS ASSOCIATION -- A man is due to appear in court charged after two police officers were run down by a car during recent rioting.
Jah-Kiel McDermott, 28, was arrested after the Pcs were struck while chasing looters during disorder in London on August 8.
He was later charged with two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.
The two officers, both based at Paddington Green police station, were struck at around 1am in Royston Avenue, in Waltham Forest, north-east London, as they dealt with reports of looting at clothing store Aristocrats in Chingford Mount Road.
While one officer suffered knee and leg injuries, the other received shoulder injuries.
They were both taken to hospital and are now recovering at home.
McDermott, of Inglehurst Gardens, in Ilford, is due to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court, east London.
A 31-year-old man has also been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.
